Cell Phone Towers

Cell phone towers are the transmitters and receivers of the microwave signals (radiation) with which our cell phones operate. Our cell phones receive these signals, and in response, transmit microwave signals back to the cell phone towers. These towers service many cell phones, even up to thousands, so the radiation from the towers is constant. Some of these towers transmit at very powerful levels, and some at less powerful levels. The general transmission range is about two miles.

Q. What is a safe distance to be from a cell phone tower?

A.  That depends on the transmitting power of the tower, and on other considerations such as trees, buildings, etc. Be careful in renting or buying your home, that it's not too close to a cell phone tower or towers. One mile away is probably okay, and in some situations a quarter of a mile is possibly okay.

Ramazzini Study—The World’s Largest Animal Study on Cell Tower Radiation Confirms Cancer Link

March 22, 2018. Researchers with the renowned Ramazzini Institute in Italy announce that a large-scale lifetime study of lab animals exposed to environmental levels of cell tower radiation developed cancer. A $25 million study of much higher levels of cell phone radio frequency (RF) radiation, from the US National Toxicology Program (NTP), has also reported finding the same unusual cancer called Schwannoma of the heart in male rats treated at the highest dose. In addition, the Ramazzini study of cell tower radiation also found increases in malignant brain (glial) tumors in female rats and precancerous conditions including Schwann cells hyperplasia in both male and female rats.

"Lament" by Nina Beety (2010-11)

Music conveys information in ways that words alone cannot express. Nina Beety wrote this “Lament” on the eve of the 4G rollout, hoping her song would alert people to the impact 4G cell towers would have on nature as well as on human and animal health.

Nina is a researcher, writer, and public speaker on public policy, the environment, and wireless radiation hazards. Her 2012 report for public officials “Smart Meter and Smart Grid Problems: Legislative Solutions” is on her website:

"Firefighters Suffer Neurological Damage After Contact With 5G Cell Towers"

July 12, 2018. The two videos in this well-written and well-documented article by Baxter Dmitry illustrate quite clearly the David-and-Goliath nature of the struggle that has been, and continues to be, the resistance to the current 3G and 4G cell towers, and the new 5G wireless technology that is being pressed upon us. Politicians, in their push to deploy 5G technology, either flatly deny or ignore the science that shows harmful, even lethal effects from RF and microwave radiation, even, as shown in the second video, comparing independent scientists and researchers to the Flat Earth Society.

"San Diego State University Brain Cancer Cluster from Cell Tower?"

November 18, 2012.  A mother talks about her 29-year-old son and others at San Diego State University (SDSU) who died of brain cancer within two years of exposure. SDSU remains silent, and San Diego journalists will not report the story.

"Canaries in the coal mine"

(Click on the blue heading above to watch the video.)

In this 8-minute video, Carte Blanche, a journalistic investigative team which has developed a high degree of credibility in South African television journalism, profiles the worldwide “rapidly increasing flood" of people suffering from wireless radiation. These "canaries in the coal mine" are now about 7% of the world’s population. This number is rising quickly because radiation poisoning is cumulative, and symptoms vary and manifest at different times for different people. No one is immune.

This 2009 literature review by biologist Alfonso Balmori shows the effects of cell tower radiation on birds, mammals, amphibians, insects, trees, and plants — especially on their nervous, cardiovascular, immune, and reproductive systems.

The following three articles are very encouraging in that they are good examples of the public's standing up for the truth concerning the dangers of EMF radiation, and especially RF (high radio frequency) microwave radiation from cell towers. They represent examples of people who are taking and have taken it upon themselves to educate themselves to the truth about this situation. This is what we all need to do given that this radiation has become so pervasive. It is affecting all of us in terms of our health and the health of our children.

Parents demand removal of cell tower from Ripon elementary school after four students and three teachers develop cancer.

If enough of us demand it, they will do it.

"Parents pull students from Encinitas school over cell tower fears"

(Click on the blue heading above to read the article.)

January 22, 2013. A group of parents have pulled their children from a charter school in Encinitas, California because of concerns about potential health threats from cell phone antennas near a classroom. "What she didn’t know when enrolling her son 18 months ago, she said, was that the tower at the church concealed 12 AT&T cell phone antennas. Another two T-Mobile antennas are in the parking lot, hidden by a stealth design that makes them not immediately noticeable."

Firefighters in Los Angeles are currently fighting the installation of new cell towers.

March 24, 2015. “The proximity of the towers and people living next to the towers is of grave concern,” said David Gillotte, union president of Firefighters Local 1014. “It’s a very complex issue how those radio issues affect people, all the way up to three miles away. There are health and safety issues that need to be discussed openly with the public.”
